Sparxent Appoints Enrico Pesatori, Former President of Tandem Computing and Senior Vice President at Compaq Computers, to Board of Directors
Current Chairman of Penguin Computing Brings Broad International Experience to Board of Newly Formed IT and Business Solution Provider
SALT LAKE CITY — November 10, 2008 — Sparxent, an IT and business solution provider focused on the middle market, today announced that Enrico Pesatori, a senior technology executive with more than 40 years of experience, has been appointed to its board of directors. Pesatori has extensive experience working with small innovative companies and also helping to build and manage large companies, including Compaq Computers Corporation, Tandem Computing and Digital Equipment Corporation.
"Enrico Pesatori is a well-respected senior-level executive. He has exceptionally strong industry knowledge and an international perspective that is highly complementary to our overseas growth plans. We are delighted to have him as part of our team," said Steve DeWindt, CEO and co-founder of Sparxent.
In 2003, Pesatori was appointed CEO and chairman of Penguin Computing, a leading provider of high performance computing clustering solutions, and continues to serve as chairman. Previously, Pesatori was CEO of BlueArc, a network attached storage company, where he successfully launched its first generation of products and established a strong reputation for the company in the storage industry.
Prior to BlueArc, Pesatori served as senior vice president and group general manager of Compaq’s enterprise solutions and services group as well as president of Tandem Computing, now a Compaq company. He also previously held several senior management positions with Digital Equipment Corporation including senior vice president and general manager of the computer systems division and personal computing division. Pesatori also spent 21 years working with Olivetti, now a mobile telecommunications company, where he held a variety of executive positions including CEO of Olivetti North America.
“Steve DeWindt and Dave Taylor have created a unique business model that has strong potential for international growth,” said Pesatori. “I am excited to be working with Sparxent to help them realize their vision of creating a single source of IT for mid-sized companies.”
In August, Sparxent was formed to focus on integrated IT consulting, business solutions and software development for the mid-market. The company recently announced the acquisition of NetworkD Corporation and that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Arbyte Group. By acquiring multiple IT providers and bringing them together under a single umbrella, Sparxent will be able to provide the broadest array of expertise and tools to the middle market.
